Each month, 104.1 WLBC and Purdue University College of Technology will choose an extraordinary High School educator focusing
on Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics to become the 2014 Educator of the Month!  It’s easy to nominate an educator.
Anyone can do it!  Send your 50 word or less essay telling us why your nominee should be the winner
(please only submit High School educators and be sure to include their name & title…and a way for us to get in contact with YOU!)
 
The winning Educator of the Month will receive an on-site award presentation followed by On-Air recognition!
 
 
Congratulations to November's Winner,
Mrs. Karen Dillow of Winchester High School!
 
 
"Mrs. Dillow is the mathematics department coordinator at Winchester Community High School. She is an important member of the WCHS Early College team.  She teaches Geometry, College Algebra for dual credit through Ivy Tech, Trigonometry with Analytical Geometry for dual credit through Ivy Tech and Calculus for dual credit through Indiana University.  In addition, she has written curriculum for a remediation program for Algebra I.  This curriculum is being used by math and science teachers at WCHS during a "Success Period" designed to help students pass the Algebra I End of Course Assessment (ECA).
Mrs. Dillow is a strong leader who is mentoring two first year mathematics teachers for WCHS. She is a advocate for the use of technology and presents lesson daily with the use of an iPad.  She is a key member of the WCHS school improvement committee.  In addition, she one of the co-sponsors of the WCHS' Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) Huddle. Mrs. Dillow is a highly respected teacher.  She is a tireless worker who serves her students and her school well!  I recommend her to you without reservation."
